Brake Press Operator

A growing manufacturing operation is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Brake Press Operator to support daily production activities in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials are accurately formed according to specifications while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating brake press equipment, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.Responsibilities and Duties:Set up and operate brake press machines to bend and form metal materials according to work orders and specifications.Review work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper machine setup and sequencing.Pull, inspect, and verify raw materials prior to processing.Measure and inspect finished parts using hand measuring tools to ensure conformance to quality standards.Record production and quality data as required.Communicate with supervisors or sales representatives regarding order changes, issues, or clarifications.Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment as needed.Assist with packaging, labeling, and staging of finished materials per work instructions.Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.Assist in training team members as needed and work collaboratively with production staff.Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements and Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required.One to two years of experience operating brake press or similar metal fabrication equipment.Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and measuring instruments.Proficiency with hand measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.Ability to work on the production floor around heavy machinery.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.Forklift and/or overhead crane certification or experience.Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.Applicants may be subject to a background check and pre-employment screening.**A conviction does not automatically disqualify an individual from employment.
