Lead Electrical Engineer - Power & SystemsPosition OverviewThe Lead Electrical Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for leading product development from concept through production release. This position supports the design and development of power generation systems, mobile platforms, and electrical distribution solutions within a manufacturing environment.The role requires technical leadership across complex engineering programs, including planning, execution, and coordination of cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical engineering expertise, product development experience, and the ability to drive projects to completion while meeting performance, cost, and schedule targets.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end product development from concept through production releaseOversee technical execution of projects, including planning, scheduling, and team coordinationDevelop electrical system layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams based on requirementsEnsure designs meet performance, cost, manufacturability, and quality targetsParticipate in and lead technical design reviewsProvide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and techniciansSupport proposal development, technical documentation, and cost estimationManage project inputs including budget, schedule, and resource planningDrive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practicesBuild, test, and validate prototypes and system integrationsCollaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to support project successEnsure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality processesSupport additional engineering projects and responsibilities as assignedTravel as required to support project needsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or product developmentExperience leading product development programs from concept to productionStrong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systemsExperience creating and reviewing schematics and wiring diagramsProficiency with SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks, and AutoCADStrong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and lead technical efforts with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree, Professional Engineer (PE) license, or MBAExperience in defense, military, or highly regulated industriesFamiliarity with industry standards such as:ASTM E1851-15IEEE 299MIL-STD-285MIL-STD-188/125MIL-STD-461 / 464Experience with SAP or similar ERP systemsWork EnvironmentCombination of office, lab, and manufacturing environmentsExposure to production areas with noise, dust, temperature changes, and industrial equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionallyAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periodsStrong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Additional InformationHands-on role with direct involvement in build, test, and validation activitiesHigh level of responsibility and visibility across engineering and operations teamsOpportunity to lead impactful projects in a fast-paced product development environmentEOE (including Disability/Veterans)
