Local Dump Truck Driver

Job Title: Local Dump Truck Driver Reports To: Trucking Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Summary: The Local Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a dump truck on local routes and hauling materials to and from job sites. This position remains local and does not require working on weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws; · Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks; · Immediately reports any unsafe situations, damage, accidents, or service-related issues to supervisor; · Occasionally operate loader to load materials into truck; · Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required; · Identifies and completed local routes in accordance with Company expectations and goals; · Positions and / or returns dumpsters on the property in a manner that ensures lids and or doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic; · Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Knowledge of federal and local driving safety regulations; Excellent time management skills and attention to detail; Good verbal communication skills. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations · Must possess a Class A or B license and a demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle safely. Local travel is a daily requirement of this position and drivers can expect to work a typical schedule of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
