Part-Time Barista

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team at 89th Key and Café Fermata. Share your love for coffee and music and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere to our students, parents and teachers as well as our coffee shop that encourages repeat business. Hours: Tuesday & Thursday: 6 am - 2:30 pm Saturday & Sunday: 7:30-4 pm Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items according to established recipes and standards. Operate Square POS system and handle transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining areas. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders efficiently, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to maintain the highest standards of hygiene. Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management. Read and be accountable for all training manuals, equipment manuals and posted signs as well as additional verbal and written training as the business grows and develops Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer experience. Requirements Previous experience in food service or as a Barista Food Safety Manager Certificate in St. Louis County Operate Square POS system Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. A genuine passion for coffee and willingness to learn about different brewing methods and beverage preparation. Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
