What you will be doing as the Certified Pharmacy Technician: Assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.Accepts new written, faxed or electronic prescription orders from a prescriber or a prescriber's agentEnters information into and retrieves information from a database or patient profilePrepares and affixes medication labelsPrepares non-sterile compoundsAssists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies in the pharmacy inventory What you will need as the Certified Pharmacy Technician: High School Diploma or GED1 - 2 Years equivalent experienceAbility to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.Work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work scheduleSet priorities and solve problemsWhile the position will work in a normal office environment, travel to the various hospitals and work locations will be necessary. Work hours will vary from time to time depending upon the needs of the business. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required for this position.
