Lead General Superintendent
One of our large general contractor and commercial construction firms is seeking a permanent Lead General Superintendent to join their growing team in the greater Boydton, VA. The Lead Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site leader, responsible for managing all construction activities from mobilization through final turnover while ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role leads and mentors superintendent teams and subcontractors, coordinates detailed site logistics and sequencing, enforces company’s safety-first culture and end client’s mission-critical requirements, and maintains close alignment with the Project Manager on schedule, manpower, and procurement. The will ensure quality execution across shell, core, and MEP scopes, supports commissioning readiness and phased turnover, and serves as a key field liaison to Microsoft representatives, inspectors, and design partners. Other responsibilities include:Oversee daily field operations and drive execution across all phases of construction, from site mobilization through final completion.Develop and manage site logistics, sequencing, and short-interval planning to support schedule adherence and trade coordination.Enforce all safety policies, conduct site walks, and promote a proactive, safety-first culture in compliance with company and client standards.Facilitate subcontractor meetings, coordination meetings, and daily planning discussions to resolve field issues and maintain momentum.Interface with owners, client representatives, inspectors, design teams, and third-party consultants to support inspections, issue resolution, and project progress.Drive commissioning readiness, punch list execution, and phased turnover activities to support successful project closeout.Identify and mitigate field risks, proactively escalate constraints, and implement recovery plans to minimize impact to schedule or quality.Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, safety logs, progress updates, and look-ahead schedules.Qualifications: 20+ years of construction experience in the fieldMinimum of 5 years of Superintendent work experienceExperience leading large projects & large teams ideally over $100M & overseeing 20 peoplePrior Data Center experience is preferredSalary: $140,000-$180,000 (flexible based on experience)Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm + 1 weekend a monthHiring Method: Full-time permanent opportunityBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K plans available, paid time off, company holidays, gas card, vehicle stipend and more.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
