We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of our facilities and equipment. This includes inspecting and troubleshooting mechanical systems, performing preventative maintenance, repairing broken equipment, and responding to emergency maintenance requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
HVAC Systems: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal comfort levels for guests and employees.
Plumbing and Electrical: Repair and maintain plumbing and electrical systems, including fixtures, outlets, switches, and appliances. Address plumbing leaks, clogs, electrical outages, and related issues promptly.
Carpentry and Painting: Conduct repairs to furniture, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures. Perform painting tasks as needed to maintain a fresh and appealing appearance.
Equipment Maintenance: Service and repair equipment used in the hotel, such as kitchen appliances, laundry machines, and fitness equipment.
Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect and maintain safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and exit signs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
Guest Requests: Respond to guest requests for maintenance assistance promptly and professionally. Resolve issues efficiently to enhance guest satisfaction.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement a preventive maintenance schedule to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment service histories.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to address maintenance-related concerns that impact guest experiences.
Supplier Relations: Communicate with suppliers and contractors to procure necessary materials and services for repairs and upgrades.
Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duty during emergencies and respond quickly to urgent maintenance situations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or related field is preferred.
Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or hotel setting.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair techniques.
Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as equipment used in maintenance tasks.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to interact with guests, colleagues, and external contractors.
Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in different weather conditions.
Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to maintenance activities.
Schedule is Friday to Tuesday with Wednesday & Thursday off.
