With consistently high rankings from HealthGrades, we are a leading orthopedic surgery specialty hospital in Kansas, continually investing in new technologies allowing us to continue to be a trailblazer in our industry.PositionWe are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Patient Accounts Specialist The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess knowledge of medical terminology and patient billing, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills.Responsibilities for Patient Account Billing RepresentativePrepare and submit insurance claims to payersResolve claim discrepancies and errors as presented through claims scrubber softwareFollow up on denied or unpaid claims by contacting payers on-line or directlyVerify claim payments are accurate according to the payer contractInsurance verification, registering patients, patient estimates and other duties as assigned.Other duties as assignedHoursFull Time M-F 7:30am to 4:00pm.RequirementsQualifications for Patient Account RepresentativeExperience processing hospital claims; prefer experience with Oracle softwareSound knowledge of medical terminology and billing practicesProven experience working as a Patient Account RepresentativeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExceptional organizational, communication and customer service skills.Detail-oriented.Ability to sit in front of a computer for long hours every dayTwo or more years of medical claims/billing experience; hospital preferredEducation:Require high school graduate or GED.
