Estate Planning Attorney
Our client is seeking a Trust and Estate Planning Attorney. Position OverviewThe ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of substantive experience in probate, trust administration, and estate and income tax planning. This role involves working closely with high-net-worth clients to design and implement comprehensive estate and gifting strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax planning strategiesDraft sophisticated estate planning documents independentlyRepresent trustees, executors, heirs, and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration mattersManage trust and estate administrations from start to finish, including post-mortem mattersCounsel clients on tailored estate planning and gifting strategiesCollaborate with clients and their external advisors (e.g., financial advisors, accountants)Prepare and/or review estate and gift tax returnsConduct legal research and stay current on evolving tax lawsOversee client matters, ensuring deadlines, communication, and deliverables are handled efficientlyDesired Qualifications & Skills2–5+ years (minimum 3 preferred) of experience in estate planning and trust administration for taxable estatesStrong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and GST tax planningExperience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clientsAbility to independently manage complex projects and client relationshipsProven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a busy practiceStrong interpersonal skills with a client-focused, solutions-oriented approachDemonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and attention to detailInterest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to team developmentCommitment to continuous learning and professional growthEducation & CredentialsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive member in good standing with the California BarLL.M. in Taxation (preferred)
