With locations in Richmond, Charlottesville, Chattanooga, and New Orleans, each House serves as a gathering place for members to work, dine, and engage with curated programming.Job SummaryCommon House servers are ambassadors of the club, directing any and all resources to members and guests. They are responsible for executing food and beverage service and accepting payments for restaurant offerings. They also create and maintain a warm and welcoming space by giving personalized service and keeping the club clean.Core CompetenciesDining room and event service, consistency, organization, communication, hospitalityResponsibilitiesMember & Guest ExperienceProviding exemplary customer service in line with company standards to all members and guests at the clubGreets guests within a minute of arrivalObserve and communicate with guests and assess their needsEscort the guests to their destinations (table, bathroom, exit, etc.); always allow a guest to pass first, never cross their path or point to a destinationAct in a manner that professionally represents the values of the clubAccurately maintain checks for members and guestsAccept payment for food and beverage offeringsUpdate member and guest information in pos and pmsService Area Preparation and CleanlinessProper stocking mise en place to meet forecasted volumes of service, before, during, and after serviceWork in a clean and efficient manner that meets health and sanitation requirementsEnsure the cleanliness of service areas, storage areas, and guest service areasComplete daily sideworkKnowledgeMaintain solid knowledge of the steps of service and related protocolsMaintain proficiency in beverage offerings and all unavailable menu (86'd) itemsKeep up to date with food menu descriptions, allergens, and local purveyorsParticipate in scheduled service trainings to further develop knowledge and enhance the ability to upsellComply with all ABC laws and regulations, and enforce these regulations with the service teamKnowledge of club layout, storage areas, including table and position numbersKnowledge of goings on and club amenitiesCommunicationCommunicate any daily beverage changes, par levels, or temporarily unavailable (86'd) items with managers and service staffAdditional Duties:Prepare coffee, tea, and other beverage offerings for members and guests consistently and with strict adherence to club recipes and standardsAttend daily pre-service meetingsAttend the training sessions and read the training notes to improve your knowledgePrepare any part of the club for a special event, which may include carrying chairs, tables, decorations, materials, and similar dutiesNever leave the floor without the authorization of your managerWork varied shifts, including weekends and holidaysBe fully conversant with every aspect of the Club's emergency proceduresBe fully conversant with all the Club's policies as detailed within the employee handbookUse all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and CH requirementsTo be aware of and ensure constant compliance with all necessary operational policies, including:Health and SafetyFood HygieneMaintenanceEmergency ProceduresLiquor License RequirementsEducation & Experience:Prior service experience requiredSkills and Abilities:Excellent communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsProficient multitaskingAbility to recall and memorize menu itemsAbility to work well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentAbility to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, to collect accurate information, and to resolve problemsMust have physical ability to access all areas of the facility, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items, work indoors, be exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, wet floors, and sharp knives, and withstand environmental factors include noise, dust, cigarette smoke (if applicable), etc.Professional appearance and demeanorPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of time walking, standing, and on one's feet.
