Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Home Health Aide to provide exceptional in-home care to clients with diverse needs in Shamong, Medford, Galloway, and Hammonton (you will be assigned a client based on your location). The ideal candidate will have experience in patient observation, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and working within the home health environments. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring personal care, medical support, and companionship. The position requires adherence to HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Candidates should possess strong medical terminology knowledge, experience with EMR/EHR systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a caregiving team.
Responsibilities
Provide personalized patient care, including assistance with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Support patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice needs, and other specialized care requirements.
Document patient information accurately using EMR/EHR systems and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, laundry, light cleaning, and household tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and care plans.
Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life for clients with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions.
Requirements
Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, hospice care, dementia/dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care practices.
Ability to operate EMR/EHR systems accurately for documentation purposes.
Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessment.
Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals.
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with patients of all ages requiring home & community care services. This role is vital in providing compassionate home health services that promote independence and well-being for our clients while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
