Under the supervision of the Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant (SWCC), the Workers' Compensation Assistant is responsible for the payments and benefits that are paid to claimants. The Workers' Compensation Assistant (WCA) will learn and perform analytical and technical tasks of average difficulty related to the Subsequent Injuries Benefits Trust Fund (SIBTF) processes in order to meet the needs of the SIBTF Unit in an efficient and effective manner. Additionally, they are responsible for the Tax ID information, and will work with the public to answer inquiries.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. The Staff Services Analyst classification is being appropriated for this position. If you have list eligibility as a Staff Services Analyst, it will be used to hire you as a Workers' Compensation Assistant. Working Conditions
The positions are located at:1750 Howe Ave. Ste. 370, Sacramento, CA 95825.
The duties of this job are performed indoors most of the time.The employee's cubicle is equipped with standard office equipment. May attend meetings in designated conference rooms and be willing to travel for off-site meeting/trainings, work in a team environment and independently.
Full time, Permanent, Open to T&D candidates.

Statement of Qualifications: 12 pt Font, no greater than 2 pages
Describe how you qualify to perform the essential functions of a Workers' Compensation Assistant.
Describe any knowledge you may have with the workers' compensation system.
Briefly describe any background you may have with support staff duties in an active office.

Knowledge of: Principles, practices, and procedures of the California Workers' Compensation System and Appeals Board; Laws and rules of Labor Code, California Administrative Code, and leading court decisions relating to workers' compensation coverage, insurance, enforcement, rights and benefits, settlements, apportionment, rules of practice, interpretation, and application of the schedule of ratings to permanent disabilities; vocational rehabilitation; general accounting; medical and anatomical terminology.
Negotiating and applying apportionment and credit information to analysis of cases. Excellent writing and verbal skills to prepare comprehensive reports and summaries. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
