An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary school setting in Statesville, NC. This contract role offers a consistent schedule with a student caseload at the elementary level. The position runs from ASAP through May 27, 2026, providing valuable experience while working closely with young learners and school staff.Key Responsibilities:Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for elementary students.Arrive prior to student arrival each day to prepare for effective communication.Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate inclusive classroom environments.Adhere to school policies and maintain professional conduct in all interactions.Qualifications:Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) credential.EIPA score of 3.5 or higher OR RID certification as an alternative credential.Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred.Ability to work onsite in Statesville, NC with no telecommuting options.Commitment to a 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, including a 30-minute paid lunch break.Location:Elementary school in Statesville, North Carolina.Benefits:Structured schedule supporting work-life balance.Opportunity to positively impact the educational experience of elementary students requiring interpreting services.Gain valuable experience in an educational environment.
