Construction Quality Assurance Inspector

Who We AreAAR Testing and Inspection currently has four office locations in Redmond, Lacey, Poulsbo, and Wenatchee. AAR provides construction quality management, quality assurance, quality control, and materials testing services. We have been a forefront of the inspection and testing industry in the Greater-Seattle Area since our founding in 1989. Our firm has over 100 employees consisting of project managers, engineers, inspectors, field technicians, lab technicians, administrative staff, and document control specialists. AAR has been providing quality inspection/testing services to a large scope of projects across Washington, covering everything from large-scale transportation projects to privately owned buildings. Job ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance/Control InspectionsMaterial Testing (Certifications Required)Review approved construction drawings and specificationsCommunicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findingsWrite concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable codeCommunicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordinationSupervise and train junior inspectors and testing techniciansPerform observations and inspections mainly related to Concrete/Steel/CivilInspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specificationsEnsure work is performed in accordance with the Contract, Specifications, and RFC plansAccurately complete quality records relating to material testing, hold-point inspections, and material receivingInitiate non-conformance processes when materials, products, tools, equipment or Work do not meet the required specificationsReview of contract documentsStudy project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and proceduresEnsure that contractors comply with specificationsThe ability to obtain certifications to perform in-field material testingRequired Knowledge, Experience, and Certifications(Preferred but not limited to) Previous experience in a project quality role(Preferred but not limited to) Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or Three (3) years’ relevant work experience plus a technical or Associate’s degree, or five (5) years of relevant inspection experiencePreference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC, and/or CWIExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)Valid driver’s licenseEnergetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workloadBenefitsFree Medical, Dental, and Vision for employees.
