We're hiring the best engineers, designers, and builders to solve the hardest problem in America.As the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of our building system — a proprietary kit-of-parts for building high-quality housing.What You'll DoThe factory is your product — you will own everything from factory layout, equipment procurement, and factory buildout to commissioning and optimization of the factoryBuild and lead a team of engineers, manufacturing specialists, and technicians to design, build, and operate the manufacturing facility to produce our building systemCollaborate with mechanical engineering and architecture teams to refine our kit-of-parts for manufacturabilityObtain and maintain all necessary certifications and approvals for the manufacturing facilitiesManage supply chain, quality, assembly, and delivery — work with company leadership to hire for these roles in the near futureEstablish and track KPIs to understand how our engineering and manufacturing decisions are impacting the quality and cost of our buildingsManage manufacturing budget, work with company leadership to project future capital requirementsQualifications7+ years of experience in hardware development with 3+ years in a leadership roleStrong technical background in mechanical design, structural analysis, DFMA, and productionProven experience delivering large complex hardware products from low-rate prototypes to full-rate productionAbility to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skillsBachelor of Science or higher degree in a technical discipline preferred, not requiredCompensationThe overall cash compensation for this position ranges from $180,000 to $250,000. All of our positions also offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.
