Electronics Technician - I

*Job Overview* We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Technician I to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage electronic security systems and components. Your expertise will help ensure the reliability and performance of our electronic equipment, contributing to innovative projects and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in electrical diagnostics, circuit testing, and mechanical-electrical integration within a collaborative environment. *Duties* * Assist in the assembly, wiring, and testing of electronic circuit boards and systems using hand tools, surface mount technology, and diagnostic tools. * Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings such as PCB layouts, schematics, and mechanical diagrams * Perform root cause analysis on electronic system failures by analyzing circuit boards, electrical wiring, and electro-mechanical components to identify issues efficiently. * Support equipment troubleshooting efforts by utilizing electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to diagnose faults accurately. * Collaborate with engineering teams on project scheduling, circuit testing, and equipment repair activities to meet project deadlines. * Assist in maintaining documentation related to electrical systems, schematics, maintenance records, and repair logs for compliance and future reference. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting modifications or upgrades to electronic systems using scripting languages like Python or automation tools when applicable. *Qualifications* * Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles with experience reading electrical schematics and interpreting technical blueprints. * Hands-on experience with electronic equipment testing, circuit boards assembly, soldering techniques (including surface mount technology), and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems. * Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters; experience with circuit testing is preferred. * Strong mechanical knowledge related to equipment assembly and repair; familiarity with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) practices is advantageous. * Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematic reading, circuit testing, and debugging electronic systems is a plus. * Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
