Apply nowAbout The RoleAs an Engineering Manager at NetActuate, you will play a pivotal role in managing and building our agile-based engineering team. You will work closely with the leadership team, including the CEO, and directly manage a team of 5-8 engineers, with the potential to hire more as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with and building agile-based engineering teams for SAAS services. They should be proficient in PHP, Python, and JavaScript, and have a solid understanding of Linux, APIs, web services, and networking.ResponsibilitiesAct as the scrum manager for the engineering team, overseeing sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Create user stories, tasks, and engineering documents to guide the development process.Assist with architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to the team.Lead by example and remain hands-on in the development process, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.Manage backend services (daemons), API layer projects, and frontend portals.Implement modern CI/CD principles, including pipelines, workflows, and QA integration.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives.Requirements4+ Years of ExperienceProven experience managing and building agile-based engineering teams for SAAS services, delivering products from start to finish.Strong proficiency in PHP, Python, and JavaScript.Solid understanding of Linux, APIs, web services, and networking.Familiarity and comfort with microservices, containers, and virtualization.Experience with modern CI/CD principles and tools.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Previous experience working in a smaller/startup environment is preferred.BenefitsFull-time employment with 401k benefits.Salary commensurate with experience and market rates.Hybrid work model: In-office at least 3 days a week.
