Technical College Faculty - Head Women's Volleyball Coach
Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks a temporary, part‑time Head Women's Volleyball Coach dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student‑centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross‑cultural perspectives. Faculty members at DCTC are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus‑wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission.
Responsible for all facets of the women's volleyball program, including but not limited to recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising.
Responsible for the recruitment process and identification of potential athletes; liaison with the DCTC Admissions Office.
This position requires travel and weekend work.
Salary Range
Coaches assigned less than 3 credits: per credit rate of $775 - $1,650.
Coaches assigned 3 or more credits total: $43,067 - $96,601 annually (based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per year. Pay prorated based upon credit load).
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one year of college coaching experience, or significant equivalent or higher level experience.
Knowledge of the principles, strategies, rules, and regulations pertaining to NJCAA women's volleyball.
Ability to recruit athletes within the sport and represent the college effectively in external and internal settings.
Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Excellent organizing, planning, budgeting, and managing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Physical Education or a Master's Degree in any field with 16 graduate semester credits in Physical Education.
Coaching education/certification.
Proven success as a leader in a career field or with student or athletic groups.
Fundraising experience.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to adhere to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
