Job description:Financial Operations Manager (Construction)T3 Clearing & GradingSmithfield-Selma, NCPosition OverviewT3 Clearing & Grading is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Financial Operations Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our growing construction company.This role is more than traditional bookkeeping or office management. We’re looking for someone who can confidently manage company finances while helping leadership make informed operational decisions that support long-term growth.The ideal candidate understands financial reporting, construction operations, cash flow management, and job costing, while also helping guide strategic decisions such as equipment purchases, rentals, and scaling operations.Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & AccountingManage accounts payable and accounts receivableProcess and manage weekly payrollMaintain general ledger and complete monthly reconciliationsTrack company expenses, purchases, and incoming revenueMonitor cash flow and financial obligationsFinancial Reporting & Decision SupportPrepare monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statementsAnalyze company expenses and profitabilityAssist with budgeting and financial forecastingSupport leadership with equipment purchase and rental evaluationsHelp assess financial impact of taking on larger projectsConstruction Billing & Job CostingManage billing, invoicing, and collectionsTrack project costs and job profitabilityCoordinate billing with project progress and completion timelinesCompliance & Administrative ManagementPull permits for upcoming projectsMaintain vehicle registrations, tags, and hauling permitsServe as a Notary Public or obtain certification after hireMaintain organized and audit-ready recordsInsurance & Employee BenefitsManage company insurance policies and renewalsOversee employee benefits administrationEnsure timely payments and policy complianceRegulatory ComplianceSchedule driver drug testing in accordance with North Carolina and DOT requirementsMaintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulationsOperational SupportPartner with leadership on financial planning and operational growthImprove internal processes and financial systemsCommunicate professionally with vendors, subcontractors, and clientsQualifications5+ years of accounting or finance experience (construction industry preferred)Strong understanding of AP/AR, payroll, and financial reportingExperience with construction job costing preferredProficient in Sage Accounting Software and Microsoft ExcelMust be a Notary Public or willing to obtain certificationHighly organized, dependable, and detail-orientedStrong communication and problem-solving skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periodsAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 poundsAbility to perform standard office and computer-related tasksBenefitsMajor Medical InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)Sick TimePaid Major HolidaysAdditional RequirementsMust pass a background checkMust pass a pre-employment drug screeningEqual Opportunity EmployerT3 Clearing & Grading is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under federal, state, or local law.Benefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: In person
