Position : Machinist Location : Covington, GADuration : 12 Months Total Hours/week : 37.501st ShiftClient: Medical Device CompanyJob Category: TechnicalLevel of Experience: Entry Level Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders Only)Job Description:The CAE/Advanced Prototyping Machinist (Contractor/ intern) is an essential part of BD's Corporate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Advanced Prototyping (AP) team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of client next-generation medical products and enhance the current product portfolio. Under the general direction of the Corporate CAE Advanced Prototyping Staff Engineer and Manager, this position is responsible for fabricating precision machined parts through the use of all machine shop equipment following standard machine shop practices and participating in daily shop schedules and functions.The direct impact of these efforts will be to deliver high-quality medical parts to the BDX community through various machining methods such as milling, lathe work, grinding, and EDM in both a manual and CNC-driven application.Responsibilities:Review drawings or solid computer models to understand specifications of outputProficiently setup, operate and learn to troubleshoot a variety of machining equipment per specified procedures.Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobMonitor machine while working to adjust the feeds and speeds, identify and address any issuesMonitor output of parts to ensure consistency with specified tolerancesProperly identify material specified for the jobPerform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damagesAbility to use all shop CNC machines and various tools to include saws, drills grinders and sandersUses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.Ability to work with minimal supervision and assistance, as required.Adherence to all client safety protocols.QualificationsAbility to identify and perform adjustments to equipment, machines, and devices within the limits of standard methods and procedures.Must demonstrate a level of knowledge and competence to set up, operate and troubleshoot a combination of the following: CNC lathes, CNC mills, and/or related equipment, in a timely manner.Understand micrometers, calipers, and utilizations of various measuring gages.Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items (50 lbs)Good verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of metal properties and other materialProgramming experience Mastercam(required) and Mazatrol(plus)Education:Degree or Certification obtained through a technical institute specific to CNC Machining
