The Material Handler is responsible for moving and transporting materials and production supplies to/from production, shipping, and warehouse areas at the Transcontinental Brooklyn manufacturing campus. Material Handlers may also be assigned responsibilities associated with transporting materials by Truck to and from buildings within the ProAmpac Brooklyn campus.Compensation for this role is $20.60 per hour.What You’ll DoSupport and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, etc.Maintain clean and organized work areas free from debris and hazards.Review, organize, stage, and transport material to the appropriate work center and or shipping process.Use mobile equipment, such as forklift and hand jack, to load and unload trucks / containers and organize material in the warehouse and manufacturing area according to the relevant schedule.Pick up unused material and return to the warehouse for reentry to inventory.Perform proper inspection of assigned mobile equipment ensuring safe working order.Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries and transport to the appropriate inventory space in an organized manner.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer products are accurately shipped, missing packages are located, and if applicable, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.Maintain a clean driving record.Maintain a fair and professional work environment that focuses the business objectives, but also balances quality of work-life factors for employees.Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.Perform other duties as assigned/directed.What You BringEducation & Experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentTechnical SkillsValid class D license with clean motor vehicle recordValid forklift certification and/or ability to become forklift certified.Working knowledge of manufacturing and warehousing functionsIf applicable, Truck driving responsibility to include one -two year’s prior experience driving commercial vehicles such as a box truck.Experience in Flexible packaging and/or printing, converting equipment a plus.Soft SkillsEffective communicator with clear, consistent messaging both verbally and in writing.Motivated and self-directed.Customer oriented.Motivated and collaborative within a team environment.Good work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.Must be flexible for overtime and shift assignment (off-shift, 24/7)What We OfferCompetitive compensation with performance-based incentives and retirement savings plans with company matchCustomizable group benefits including health, dental, life, disability, and travel insurancePaid time offCareer development opportunitiesA dynamic, inclusive work environment where your voice matters and your growth is supported
