Job Title: Clinical Nutrition SpecialistDepartment: Food and NutritionLocation: Lipson Cancer InstituteHours Per Week: Per diemSchedule: Monday-Friday day shift, flexibleSummaryProvides nutritional care of at risk patients/residents and acts as a consultant to other health care professionals in determining the best nutritional care options for their patients/residents.ResponsibilitiesAssessment: Complete nutritional assessments for all patients; provide input into Nutritional Support Service rounds for assigned patients; monitor and document patient progress.Nutritional Therapy Planning: Provide recommendations for formulations, rate and volume for all tube fed and TPN patients. Instruct patients and families on special diets and general good nutrition.Patient Care: Develop plan of care per clinical data, interview, diagnosis and treatment goals; provide oversight to dietetic technicians providing patient care.Required Qualifications1 year of clinical nutrition experience as a Registered Dietitian.Bachelor’s Degree from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) accredited program.Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).Preferred QualificationsA minimum of two (2) years of acute clinical experience.Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements for nutrition care.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong analytical thinking and computer skills.EducationBS (Required)Licenses / CertificationsRDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)Physical RequirementsM - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
