HVAC Service Technician (Journeyman Level Experience)

With competitive compensation and a strong benefits package, TAG is an exciting place to work.TAG Refrigeration is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to support advanced service work in the Phoenix, AZ area.Role SummaryThe Senior Technician is responsible for high-level diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of rooftop HVAC equipment, including (but not limited to) packaged AC systems up to 30 tons, exhaust fans, and VRF/mini-split systems.This role also serves as:A technical resource for field techniciansA liaison between customers and the service teamA field extension of the management teamKey ResponsibilitiesPerform full-service diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across a wide range of HVAC systems and industriesConduct advanced controls diagnostics on BAS controllers (including MicroThermo, Emerson, etc.)Complete thorough preventative maintenance with support from the maintenance teamProvide technical support across the service department and client baseRequired Skills & QualificationsJourneyman-level HVAC experience with strong troubleshooting capabilities5+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred, with a focus on rooftop packaged units and kitchen exhaust systemsStrong working knowledge of: RTUsDOAS systemsMini-splitsVRF/VRV systemsVFDsExhaust fansAdvanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and control systemsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, submittals, and specificationsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with customers, management, and field teamsAbility to prioritize work and operate independentlyValid driver's license with a clean driving recordFlexibility to travel, work overtime, and occasional overnight work as neededPreferred Qualifications5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience across multiple system typesEPA Type II CertificationSchedule FlexibilityOur Phoenix HVAC division offers flexible scheduling options to eliminate traditional on-call rotations:4 weekday 8-hour shifts + 1 weekend 8-hour shift3 weekday 10-hour shifts + 1 weekend 10-hour shiftMonday–Friday schedule (no on-call) available for the right candidateCompensation & PerksSign-on bonus available (based on experience)Competitive payMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid vacation, holidays, and sick timeYear-round, steady workOpportunities for advancementSupportive, team-oriented work environment
