Facilities Maintenance Tech

The Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of the mine site facility. This role ensures that buildings, equipment, and site infrastructure are maintained in good working condition while adhering to safety standards and company policies.Duties and Responsibilities:  Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, and site infrastructure (e.g., doors, walls, flooring, lighting, plumbing, and fixtures)Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential issuesComplete minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairsMaintain and repair industrial equipment and support systems as neededRespond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issuesAssist with preventative maintenance programs and scheduled servicingOperate hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment safelyEnsure compliance with MSHA and company safety regulationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentKeep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance logsCoordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessarySupport facility upgrades, installations, and improvement projectsRequired Skills and Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of maintenance or handyman experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environmentBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systemsAbility to read and follow technical instructions, manuals, and blueprints (preferred)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesMust possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to operate a light vehicle.Ability to work in an industrial environment requiring the use of PPE when requiredPhysical Demands: To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or liftsAble to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
