Apply via Dice today!Position: WordPress Full Stack DeveloperLocation: Seattle, WAContract: 12+ Months (Extension Possible)Role Summary:Client is seeking a part-time Full Stack WordPress Developer to assess its WordPress environment, recommend improvements, collaborate with Pantheon, and support the district’s website ecosystem for design, reliability, performance, monitoring, security, and user experience. The environment includes 104 school websites, one public district website, and one staff-only website.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain WordPress multisite environmentAssess current sites and recommend improvementsCollaborate with SPS web services team and PantheonSupport testing, deployment, release management, and uptimeSet up and tune monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes, New Relic, and SolarWindsConfigure and maintain WordPress CMS for performance and securityMaintain WordPress core, themes, and third-party pluginsCreate, maintain, and back up databasesSupport new feature development and troubleshootingWork on integrations with third-party and enterprise systemsEnsure responsive design, cross-platform compatibility, and performance optimizationSupport regular WordPress and plugin patchingEnsure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility complianceProvide reporting, status updates, performance measurement, and retrospectives. Required Skills and Experience:Proven experience as a full stack WordPress developerAt least 5 years of professional web development experienceStrong skills in PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML5Experience with GitExperience with APIs and RESTful servicesStrong understanding of WCAG / accessibilityGood project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Nice to Have:K-12 academic environment experiencePublic agency experience.
