Deltek Systems Analyst Office Location: Chicago, IL \u007C Denver, CO \u007C Tampa, FL Employment Type: Full-time regular Your Role at Walker Are you a Deltek or project management software expert who wants to share your knowledge? As a Deltek Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, customization, and ongoing support of Deltek software solutions within our organization. Walker is looking to significantly increase the use of our ERP Platform, Deltek Vantagepoint. To do this we need a person that has experience with Deltek and has the ability and desire to work with our management team and users to identify, develop and implement enhancements, changes and added features. This is an opportunity for an experienced system analyst to expand their technical knowledge into practical operational knowledge and provide tangible improvements to Walker. You will collaborate with various departments to understand business and operational requirements, configure Deltek applications to meet those needs, and provide technical support and training to users. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, optimizing system performance, identifying automation opportunities, and staying current with Deltek product updates and best practices. Additionally, this person will be part of efforts to research, test and implement other complementary products. Responsibilities Work with Project Managers and Consultants to understand their project management needs and processes to develop solutions which will better utilize the software’s features to support them. Develop an expert knowledge of the reporting options, including Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities, and work with users to create impactful reports. Focus on identifying opportunities where BI tools can enhance decision-making and operational insights, while training users on data queries and custom reporting. Lead efforts to create automated workflows and integrations to enhance functionality and streamline processes. Collaborate with users to assess current processes and identify opportunities for automation through workflows, stored procedures, and scripting. Conduct system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing to ensure quality and accuracy of Deltek upgrades with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency enhancements. Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system-related problems in a timely manner ensuring a smooth user experience. Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate users on Deltek software functionality best practices and automation tools, promoting system optimization across departments. Lead cross-departmental collaboration to ensure Deltek Vantagepoint aligns with operational needs and long-term organizational goals. Facilitate discussions to assess the system's performance and initiate enhancements that support future growth. Develop in-depth knowledge of Deltek’s CRM component, collaborate with end users to identify best practices for utilizing CRM features, and spearhead training and company-wide rollout of CRM functionalities. Establish data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within Deltek, while managing user access and adhering to internal controls. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain an accurate record of system setup supporting continuity and scalability. Work with Senior Management to identify enhanced uses of Deltek in Walker driving strategic improvements by leveraging advanced reporting, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and analytics for informed decision-making. Research and implement complementary software to enhance project management, data sharing, analytics, and reporting capabilities, ensuring Deltek integrates effectively with other platforms. Act as a key liaison between the organization and external vendors, including Deltek support, ensuring optimal service and alignment with business needs. Understand and strategize on the use of AI and Dela (Deltek's AI-powered solutions), identifying opportunities to leverage these technologies for improved operational efficiency, automation, and enhanced decision-making. Implement and oversee the deployment of AI tools within the organization where appropriate. Stay current with Deltek product updates, patches, and new features, evaluating their potential impact on the organization. Attend annual Deltek conferences and other industry events to expand your knowledge and deliver greater value as a Systems Analyst. Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proven experience working with Deltek software solutions, including, Vision, Vantagepoint, or Ajera. Experience in the Architecture and Engineering field, or similar professional services industries, is a plus. Strong understanding of project-based business processes, accounting principles, data analytics and reporting and financial management. Experience in configuring and customizing Deltek (or similar project management software) through administrative tools, scripting languages, and APIs, or add on software applications. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical and process issues independently. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users and stakeholders. Experience with system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing methodologies. Knowledge of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle) and experience with data migration and integration processes is a plus. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings, training sessions, or system implementations. Partial work from home schedule is available after initial training and onboarding. May require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate system maintenance, upgrades, or critical issue resolution. Base salary annually + bonus, depending on company performance. Total financial compensation resulting from a performance bonus can increase your earning potential.
