Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.QUALITY INSPECTOR (SUPPLY CHAIN)As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for executing a wide variety of inspections, nonconformance documentation, and the resolution of Starship products.RESPONSIBILITIES:Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometerApprove or reject items and document inspection results as requiredPerform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copiesCommunicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepanciesComplete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace partsSupport quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesInspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specificationsUse electronic MRP system to route parts and components to proper departmentsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ years of receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience operating a forklift or other material handling motorized vehicles and equipmentExperience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fieldsExperience detecting design and drawing flawsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gaugesExperience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ExcelADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as neededStanding for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionMust be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassistedMust be able to work under adverse conditions (e.g., dirty, noisy, or confined spaces)ITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
