We invite experienced Advanced Practice Providers to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds and progressive visionaries together in our Division of Digestive Health & Surgery team at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina.Position Description:Surgery CareFull TimeAmbulatory specialty care with perioperative support~35 hours/week direct patient care;No routine or weekend calls The successful candidate should be able to provide autonomous outpatient management for post-operative patients, surveillance populations, and complex wound/ostomy care. Perform histories, exams, ongoing assessments, and implement treatment plans. Deliver patient education and longitudinal support. Collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to optimize perioperative care and manage complex patients. Coordinate transitions across care settings and act as patient advocate. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, workflow development, and process improvement. Engage in research and professional development opportunities.Meet performance expectations of ≥35 weekly patient contact hours. Maintain compliance with documentation and productivity standards. Deliver efficient clinic throughput while managing complex patients.Demonstrate core competencies advanced clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, ability to independently manage patients, collaborative practice approach, adaptability in complex care environments.Value proposition and high-impact patient relationships, autonomy with physician partnership, and opportunities for growth in research, quality improvement, and specialty program development.Ideal Candidate:Ability to manage complex patients independently and interest in specialty program development.1 year of experience preferred, surgical experience desiredEducation, Experience and CertificationsMust have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS preferred. Also critical care experience preferred.Nurse Practitioner: Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification required based upon population and acuity served.1 Year experience ACNP or AGANP requiredPhysician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, master's degree preferred.
