If you are enthusiastic about providing exceptional care and desire a workplace where you can truly make a difference, we would be thrilled to connect with you!The Geriatrics & Extended Care Service at our Spokane Healthcare System is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Geriatrics Board Certified Attending Physician for our Community Living Center (CLC). This role presents an opportunity to serve our nation's veterans while enjoying an excellent work-life balance. The CLC offers Nursing Home level care for veterans requiring short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, dementia support, or hospice services.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Physician for the Community Living Center will be accountable for the overall quality of medical care provided to the assigned veteran population. Specific clinical duties include:Reviewing patient histories, conducting examinations, and formulating assessments and care plans for CLC residents, while coordinating evaluations, diagnostic tests, clinical follow-ups, and care coordination.Managing day-to-day operations of the CLC team in caring for veterans.Ensuring timely submission of completed documentation to promote efficiency and accuracy.Collaborating with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, ancillary healthcare providers, and various clinical specialties to facilitate hospital admissions, post-discharge care, and specialty consultations as necessary.Participating in the screening of veterans and completing consults for the CLC.Being part of the on-call schedule for urgent veteran needs in the CLC after hours.Engaging in interdisciplinary team meetings.Taking on additional clinical responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics & Extended Care.Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including:Recruitment Incentive: Sign-on bonus available.Salary: Competitive pay, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for CME).Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with up to 5% contributions from the organization.Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many plans can be carried into retirement).Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.CME: Up to $1,000 reimbursement per year (must be full-time with board certification).Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage provided at no cost.Contract: No physician employment contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible participants may receive up to $200,000 towards qualified loans over five years (not exceeding $40,000 per year).
