Quality Control Associate- Second Shift
Position Summary
The Quality Control Associate is responsible for understanding, implementing, supporting, and ensuring compliance with all company processes, policies, customer requirements, and quality standards across the plant. This role serves as a key link between quality, production, and leadership by providing inspections, feedback, training, and documentation to maintain consistent product quality. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, bilingual communication (English/Spanish), and a high level of accountability and integrity. Safety, 6-S principles, and honesty are fundamental to success in this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Inspections
Perform in-process inspections by verifying specifications, conducting visual inspections, and completing required measurement tests.
Inspect incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to identify defects, damage, or quality concerns.
Conduct water testing and other quality assurance tests on finished products as required.
Identify nonconforming materials or products and ensure they are properly contained, tagged, and documented.
Return products to production lines or cells for rework when specifications are not met.
Compliance & Standards
Learn and understand all production processes, SOPs, and quality standards on the manufacturing floor.
Ensure company-wide compliance with customer specifications, internal quality expectations, and applicable regulatory or industry standards.
Encourage and reinforce adherence to 6-S standards related to safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, including consistent use of required PPE.
Documentation & Reporting
Document quality issues, defects, and rejects through clear and accurate written reports.
Communicate inspection results, trends, and concerns to production supervisors and plant management.
Support corrective action processes by providing detailed information related to defects or process deviations.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Apprehend and control nonconforming materials and collaborate with Purchasing or Engineering to determine resolution (repair, rework, return, or scrap).
Support production operations as needed to ensure quality goals and production standards are met.
Maintain professional, respectful collaboration with all employees throughout the plant.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or quality-related education preferred.
· 2 years of previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, or production environment preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and CAD documentation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to remain patient, objective, and professional in fast-paced environments.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
· Work performed primarily on the manufacturing floor.
· Exposure to machinery, noise, glass, and varying temperatures.
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and visual inspections required.
· Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs as needed.
· Required use of PPE at all times in designated areas.
· Occasional overtime may be required to support production or quality needs.
