You will handle all stages of the painting process, from surface preparation and masking to final application and cleanup, while following strict safety, quality, and hazardous waste handling procedures.ResponsibilitiesWash and sand parts in preparation for paint, ensuring all surfaces are clean and properly profiled.Prepare fillers, perform bodywork, and wipe down parts prior to painting as required to achieve a smooth finish.Mask off parts and trucks before painting to protect non-painted surfaces and ensure clean lines.Set up parts on racks and hangers to support an efficient and organized painting process.Paint parts and trucks using HVLP paint guns and oil-based paint, following specified techniques and coverage requirements.Maintain and clean the paint booth and sanding booth to keep a safe, organized, and efficient work area.Maintain and clean all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) according to manufacturer requirements.Clean and maintain paint guns, pumps, and agitators to ensure proper operation and consistent paint quality.Work in a clean and safe manner at all times, utilizing all required safety equipment and following safety procedures.Read, clearly understand, and adhere to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and related safety information.Follow hazardous waste processes and documentation requirements, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal.Use grinders, DA sanders, and related tools for surface preparation, sanding, and finishing work.Operate forklifts and tuggers to move parts, materials, and equipment safely within the facility.Organize workflow and schedule daily workload based on priorities to meet production and quality targets.Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of industrial painting experience, including work in a paint booth environment.Hands-on experience with HVLP spray guns and industrial paint application.Ability to lift at least 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.Ability to work with arms in a raised position for extended periods.Ability to work in a kneeled or low position for extended periods.Familiarity with solvent-based, single-component paints and related preparation techniques.Previous experience using grinders and dual-action (DA) sanders for surface preparation.Ability to operate forklifts and tuggers in a safe and controlled manner.Ability to understand and follow MSDS safety information and hazardous waste procedures.Ability to organize workflow and schedule daily tasks based on production priorities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with industrial painting in a climate-controlled environment.Sandblasting, blasting, and paint preparation for industrial parts.Knowledge of industrial paint booths, including setup, operation, and maintenance.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.Ability to maintain clean and well-organized equipment, including paint guns, pumps, and agitators.Comfort working with PPE and adhering to manufacturer maintenance requirements.Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under production schedules.Why Work Here?You will work in a climate-controlled facility that supports your comfort and safety while you perform hands-on, skilled work.
