Grocery Department ManagerFULL-TIMEOPEN AVAILABILITY NEEDEDUp to $87,647.50 PER YEARGENERAL PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, and product assortment is maintained throughout the store, particularly in the grocery departments. This person will be receiving, stocking and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, training and mentoring associates, and providing exceptional customer service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresDirectly oversees the successful operation of the grocery, frozen, and dairy departmentsEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the grocery, frozen, and dairyResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the grocery, frozen, and dairy, and natural and specialty foods departmentsConfirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad itemsEnsures the store is cleaned daily and meets the company standards for appearanceDelivers excellent customer service to all customersReceives, stores, and stocks a wide variety of products for the grocery, frozen, and dairyOrders product to meet the needs of the grocery departments based on past and projected salesPulls out of date product from the shelvesBuilds end-cap and other special product displaysVerifies invoices from third party vendorsAssists Store Director with the successful operation of the storeActs as manager in charge of the store in the Store Director's absenceCommunicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Sales DirectorsEnsures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintainedTeaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the teamProvides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc.Promptly addresses and resolves associates' concerns and/or grievancesWrites the grocery schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goalsQuarterly inventory of all store productsActive member of the Safety Committee which helps ensure the safety of both customers and associatesCompletes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely mannerSets a professional and positive example to othersAssists as needed to ensure the success of the store as a wholeMARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other job-related duties as assigned.NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:Consistent and daily interaction with store associatesConsistent and daily interaction with customersConsistent and daily interaction with vendorsTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
