Machine Operator

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:
The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating assigned equipment to produce quality parts at the required production rate while following standard work procedures. The operator ensures process stability, monitors machine performance, maintains quality standards, and supports continuous improvement efforts under the direction of the Segment Lead.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies, safe machine operation, and Workplace Safety compliance
Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ensure machine guards and safety devices are in place and function
Immediately report safety hazards or unsafe conditions; Hazard Awareness
Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Conduct regular inspections of eyewash stations and fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and the availability of functional emergency equipment.
Operate assigned machines according to standard operating procedures
Maintain required production rate or cycle time
Monitor machine performance during operation
Request and load raw materials and unload finished parts
Ensure consistent machine operation throughout the shift: Production efficiency, Cycle time adherence, Equipment stability, and Continuous operation
Monitor hourly production targets and record production data accurately if needed
Identify and report machine downtime and notify the Segment Lead of production issues
Support production goals and schedule adherence
Inspect parts according to quality standards and control plans and identify and segregate defective parts
Immediately notify the Segment Lead when quality issues occur
Follow documented inspection procedures
Ensure proper part handling to prevent damage
Follow established machine setup and operation procedures
Use correct materials, tools, and fixtures
Maintain proper work methods and sequences
Follow work instructions for inspections and documentation
Perform daily machine checks and maintain machine cleanliness
Identify any abnormal machine conditions and report on equipment issues to Segment Lead
Quality first yield pass, defect detection, and process consistency
Scrap reduction
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency
Participating in improvement initiatives
Suggest ideas to reduce scrap or downtime
Support lean manufacturing initiatives
All other duties as assigned.

Possess two or more years of experience working with Interroll products.
Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals.
Possess basic communication skills using common courtesy.
Possess the ability to deal with problems involving limited concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, feel, or handle; employee must regularly reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to seventy pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and/or vibration. The noise level in this environment is usually loud.
