Civil Engineering Technician - Water / UtilitiesOnsite - 5 Days per WeekMust reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations:Denver, COPhoenix, AZSan Marcos, CATualatin, ORRelocation assistance is not available.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including linear pipelines and related utility systems. This role functions in a project engineering technician capacity, supporting engineering and design teams in developing and modifying technical deliverables.The position focuses heavily on site drainage, grading, and utility plan development using Autodesk Civil 3D and related design software.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation.Create and modify plan and profile drawings, alignments, pipe networks, and grading surfaces.Interpret engineering design inputs and prepare moderately complex deliverables.Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and estimates.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and document control procedures.Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to exchange project information and support design development.Review deliverables for quality and accuracy.Support field activities as needed.Provide technical guidance to junior team members when appropriate.Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of related civil drafting/design experience.Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including:Pipe and pressure networksProposed grading surfacesPlan and profile developmentStrong understanding of:Plan & profile drawingsAlignmentsPipe networksSite gradingTechnical SkillsAutodesk Civil 3D (Advanced - Required)Autodesk AutoCADBluebeamExperience with electronic document control systems and CAD applicationsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and deliverable contentWorking knowledge of engineering standards and design practicesBasic understanding of construction and constructability principlesEducationDiploma or technical certificate preferredAssociate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field preferred#M1Ref: #275-Eng Kansas CitySystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
