This role focuses on OS modernization, system stability, and ensuring compatibility with enterprise applications, including Oracle databases.Key ResponsibilitiesRHEL Upgrade ExecutionUpgrade systems from RHEL 7 to RHEL 9.x (9.5 preferred)Plan and execute upgrade strategy (Leapp or rebuild approach)Perform pre-upgrade assessments and remediationSystem AdministrationConfigure OS, kernel parameters, and required packagesManage storage, file systems, and system performanceSupport standalone and clustered environmentsCompatibility & IntegrationEnsure compatibility with:Oracle databases (19c)Middleware (WebLogic)Enterprise applicationsCoordinate with DBAs and application teamsTesting & ValidationConduct system validation, regression, and performance checks post-upgradeTroubleshoot OS-level issuesSecurity & ComplianceApply STIG hardeningSupport ACAS / SCAP remediationMaintain compliance with enterprise security standardsRequired SkillsStrong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7 and RHEL 9.x)Experience performing enterprise OS upgradesStrong Linux system administration skills (networking, storage, services)Experience with shell scriptingPreferredExperience with clustering tools (e.g., Pacemaker or similar)Experience supporting Oracle environmentsExposure to secure or government environments
