Senior Software Engineer, Audio - Unpublished R&D Product

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll own and deliver important features and model best practices within the team.As a Senior Software Engineer, Audio on an unpublished R&D product, you will lead the development and delivery of features and tools underpinning the audioscape for one of Riot’s most exciting new games. You will work closely with sound designers, producers, and other engineers to gather requirements and execute against the vision for the team’s audio tooling, and will be hands-on in conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and maintaining the tools that power audio workflows. You will work with state-of-the-art technology, and explore new solutions to surprise and delight our players as we bring this new game to life. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Tech Foundations team within the R&D game project.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with the audio team to deliver tools that are purpose-driven, robust, and scalableImplement and support foundational elements of the game’s audio ecosystem and toolsWork with design and engineering leads to help define the team’s future vision for audio tooling and workflowsModel the team’s best practices for tools architecture and implementationAdvocate for the technical vision for upcoming and existing tools with other disciplinesProvide documentation and trainings on new audio tools and workflows to internal customersMentor junior engineers as the team scalesRequired Qualifications4+ years of gameplay development experience in a C-style game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc)3+ years working on audio tools and featuresProficiency in C++Direct experience with audio middleware such as Wwise, FMOD, Unreal AudioExperience in Unreal EngineBS in Computer Science, or proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentalsStrong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiencesDesired QualificationsProficient with modern day audio software tools (Pro-Tools, Reaper, Plugins)Experience working on a networked gameExperience with UE4 and/or UE5Experience developing and shipping a AAA titleExperience with Agile developmentFor this role, you'll find success through craft expertise and a collaborative spirit that prioritizes the delight of players.
