Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary / ObjectiveAs a Mechanical Engineer at Roswell Marine, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and improving innovative marine products and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet customer expectations, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities. This position is essential in driving product innovation, optimizing mechanical components, and ensuring the reliability and durability of our premium product line.Essential Job Functions And DutiesDesign and DevelopmentDevelop detailed mechanical designs, 3D models, and technical drawings for marine systems and components using Solidworks CAD package. Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity, safety, and performance of mechanical systems. Research and implement new technologies to improve product functionality and durability. Testing and ValidationConduct testing and analysis of prototypes to verify design performance and identify improvements. Diagnose and resolve design or manufacturing issues during development and production phases. Collaboration and Project ManagementWork closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product development. Provide engineering support to production and quality teams to resolve technical challenges. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including manuals and reports. Manufacturing SupportEnsure that designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost efficiency. Source materials and components, working with suppliers to meet specifications and quality standards. Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles in production processes. Continuous ImprovementMonitor performance data and field feedback to improve product quality and customer satisfaction. Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and competitiveness. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus but not required. 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the marine, automotive, or manufacturing industry. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and FEA tools. Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation processes. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, such as CNC machining, injection molding, and metal fabrication. Knowledge of marine systems and components is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Work Schedule / Travel / Additional RequirementsNormal office hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM, this position will spend the time necessary to get the work done including evenings and weekends as needed. Travel between Roswell facilities required as needed. Background - clear background required for new hires.
