Position
The Construction Superintendent is the senior on-site leader responsible for daily field execution of a high-profile office-to-residential conversion in Washington, DC. This 15-story, 525+ unit mixed-use project includes market-rate, extended stay, and affordable housing, along with 60,000+ SF of commercial space.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Superintendent ensures all work is completed in strict accordance with plans and specifications, maintains schedule discipline, enforces safety and quality standards, and proactively identifies risks impacting cost or timeline.
Responsibilities
Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and building codes; prevent deviations and enforce proper installation standards
Maintain high-quality workmanship across all trades; identify and correct issues early to avoid rework and delays
Drive daily progress and protect the critical path; develop and manage two-week look-ahead schedules
Hold subcontractors accountable for manpower, sequencing, and milestone commitments
Coordinate trade handoffs, inspections, material deliveries, and shared equipment (cranes, hoists, tools)
Oversee site logistics including access, deliveries, staging, temporary utilities, waste management, and environmental controls
Deploy labor efficiently with a cost-conscious mindset; eliminate unnecessary spend
Enforce safety protocols and maintain clean, organized, inspection-ready jobsite conditions
Protect completed work and manage phased turnover or occupied/resident-facing areas professionally
Proactively communicate and escalate risks related to schedule, cost, or quality
Qualifications
5+ years of experience supervising multifamily construction projects
Experience in adaptive reuse and/or ground-up construction preferred
High-rise experience (including tower crane operations) strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety regulations, and building codes
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
Spanish or Russian language skills a plus

Pay: $155,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
