As the Senior QA/QC Manager, you will lead firmwide quality assurance initiatives-ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of constructability, coordination, and code compliance. The firm is known for its collaborative culture, specialized sector expertise, and commitment to delivering impactful environments-making this a platform for long-term influence and legacy-building within the profession.Core ResponsibilitiesLead and continuously refine firmwide QA/QC processes across all project phases (SD, DD, CD, CA)Perform high-level drawing and specification reviews with a focus on constructability, coordination, and technical accuracyEnsure compliance with building codes, life safety requirements, accessibility standards (ADA), and industry best practicesIdentify and mitigate design risks, errors, and omissions prior to constructionCollaborate with project managers and firm leadership to maintain consistency across all deliverablesDevelop and implement QA/QC standards, checklists, and review protocolsMentor architects and project teams in documentation excellence, detailing, and coordinationLead post-project evaluations to improve workflows, standards, and overall project performanceServe as a technical authority on complex architectural challenges and interdisciplinary coordinationRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture25+ years of progressive experience in architectural practiceLicensed Architect (RA) requiredProven experience in QA/QC leadership or technical oversight rolesDeep knowledge of IBC, local Georgia/Atlanta codes, and ADA accessibility standardsExpertise in life safety systems, constructability, and interdisciplinary coordinationExceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong leadership, mentoring, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in Senior Living and/or Healthcare project sectorsBackground working on large, complex, multi-disciplinary projectsExperience developing firmwide QA/QC standards or training programsAbility to influence firm culture through process improvement and knowledge sharingAbout THW DesignTHW Design is an award-winning architecture and design firm with a strong national presence, specializing in Senior Living, Hospitality, Healthcare, and Mixed-Use environments.
