Quality Engineer
A Duracell Quality Engineer leads, facilitates, supports, manages continuous improvement at the site while interfacing with diverse people. Across the entire Supplier-Input-Process-Output-Customer value stream, the role leads the quality continuous improvement projects and leading the corrective/preventative action process for the site while holding to the standards of the site quality management system. In addition, this position will serve as the primary resource for the site quality information systems.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and lead the site quality continuous improvement project portfolio.
Lead project teams to reduce quality-related risks and losses with sustainable solutions embedded in the plant operations systems.
Lead the corrective / preventative action system for quality-related losses, serving as site owner and primary coach.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all site quality information systems.
Streamline quality processes through digitization.
Serve as one of the site’s lead internal auditors for ISO 9001:2015.
Apply statistics to process control, analysis, and reporting.
Interpret and apply site quality standards to improvements.
Provide written/oral updates to site leadership.
Apply principles, practices and procedures of manufacturing to implement solutions for quality issues.
Partners with battery manufacturing professionals across the organization to achieve business objectives.
Supports the company and site strategic goals and assists in the development of tactical plans and actions.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Process/Product/Quality Engineering experience a plus
Green Belt experience a plus
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification a plus
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability demonstrated to lead small teams and projects
Ability to make data-based decisions on routine matters
Mechanical aptitude for process analysis and optimization
Activity planning and prioritization with software
Proficient with MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability, Power BI, and Power Apps preferred
Understanding of SPC, DMAIC, advanced statistics and DOE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
