Primary Function:
Position is responsible for daily operation of wastewater treatment (WWT) system.
Specific Duties and Responsiblities:
Monitor, start up, and shut down the WWT System and Control program.
Perform tasks related to WWT System, including, but not limited to:
Monitor and clean the filter press, bag filters, pumps, strainers.
Monitor, calibrate and maintain sensor instruments.
Conduct simple laboratory bench tests and interpret results.
Calculate and add required amounts of treatment chemicals for different wastewater sources and/or system parameters.
Must be able to troubleshoot and respond to system problems.
Must perform daily chemical inventory.
Must keep work areas clean.
Must be able to adjust priorities and activities based on observed or reported deficiencies.
Required to comply with all work, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work other shifts or on weekends as required for Production schedule, preventative maintenance needs, or required cleaning.
Job Qualifications:
Must have excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Prior experience in wastewater treatment or plating preferred.
Must be able to communicate well with all levels of management and plant employees both verbally and in written form.
Must maintain valid forklift license.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a plating environment. Must demonstrate abilities to understand written instructions, perform mathematic calculations, and use instrumentation and control systems.
