Data Analyst
Work Location: Phoenix, AZ & Wheeling, WVImmediate HiringWe are seeking a Data Governance Analyst II to support enterprise data governance activities across multiple business domains. This is a 12+ month contract role based in Phoenix, AZ or Wheeling, WV.In this role, you will perform governance operations including stewardship support, policy and standards administration, metadata and catalog maintenance, critical data element (CDE) tracking, reference data management, and data quality coordination. You will partner with data owners, data stewards, business partners, and technical teams to deliver reliable, auditable governance services.This role contributes to a mature governance operating model and requires strong documentation discipline, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate governance policy into practical workflows and measurable outcomes.RequirementsThe client works in the banking sector.Governance & Stewardship Operations: Facilitate requests through established governance processes, maintain policy and standards inventories, document governance decisions, approvals, and remediation activities.Metadata & Data Catalog: Develop and update business terms, metadata, classifications, and lineage references; maintain CDE records, scoring evidence, and business-term relationships; validate reference datasets and log change requests.Data Quality: Facilitate routine data quality issue submissions, track routing and status, perform approved data profiling, and update standard rules, thresholds, and scorecards.Platform Administration (CDGC): Execute approved governance workflows, update assigned content, conduct testing of routine workflow or configuration changes, and document results.Required Skills & Experience:Minimum 5+ years of experience in data, analytics, governance, documentation, operations, or a related field.Working knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.Hands-on experience with Informatica CDGC and CDQ for glossary, catalog, lineage, CDE, and quality asset management.Working knowledge of DCAM and/or DAMA-DMBOK, data ownership and stewardship models, reference data, policy administration, and regulatory expectations.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.Demonstrated working knowledge of AI tools and Microsoft Copilot for analysis, documentation, and communication, with ability to validate outputs for accuracy and appropriateness.Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and documentation skills.Ability to translate governance policy into practical workflows, ownership expectations, metadata, controls, and measurable operating outcomes.Strong facilitation, requirements gathering, stakeholder influence, conflict resolution, and written policy/standards development skills.Ability to independently clarify requirements, analyze complex problems, document decisions, and communicate technical findings to both business and technical audiences.Experience working in iterative or Agile delivery environments, managing competing priorities, and producing reusable documentation and standards.
