Job Summary The Network Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, configuration, integration & installation of a growing local area network (LAN) and/or wide area network (WAN). The Network Engineer will provide leadership in technical support and documentation to various departments and users with regard to the global infrastructure. The Network Engineer serves as a liaison to gather network requirements from internal customers, vendors, and other third-party providers. This role will have a strong focus on F5 technologies, including BIG-IP LTM, GTM, Remote access, traffic management, and application delivery optimization across the enterprise network. Other responsibilities will include Forescout device profiling in a Software Defined Access environment, and managing SolarWinds device monitoring for the Data Center and Enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities DESIGN:Perform design requirements and recommendations for the enterprise networkPerform vendor recommendation/selection and coordination for hardware testing, installations, and upgrades BUILD:Create maintenance plans, including detailed documentation & change management coordinationPerform maintenance and upgrades of both hardware and softwareScripting and testing of maintenance plans for all upgrades and changesWork in either a lead role or an assisting role during maintenance implementations IMPROVEMENTS:Develop or conform to client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Method of Procedures (MOPs)Implement network standardization practicesDocument informational content for specialized network designs to be used for training needsPresent and/or train on new network topologies, hardware, and technologies to internal teamsLead Root Cause Analysis sessions to achieve better networking practicesDetermine baseline requirements for network needsProvide code analysis on existing software, IOS testing, and software recommendationsCreate network lab mockups for error testingAutomate repetitive engineering tasks ADDITIONAL:Knowledge of Forescout management, profiling, and maintenanceManage and maintain SolarWinds monitoring and backups for network gearManage the team's ticket queue and respond on-site to issuesWork with teams for escalations, POCs, and other related problemsInitial deployment of new products and servicesMonitor capacity and plan for bandwidth additions Required SkillsHands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP solutions, including load balancing and application deliveryKnowledge of SolarWinds Monitoring and Forescout NACAdvanced level experience working with most of the following technologies/applications: MPLS, BGP, LDP, QoS, IPv6, OSPF, vPC, STP, DWDM, EVPN, L2VPN, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, FHRP, VLAN, CDP, port-channels, IS-IS, MPLS Inter-AS, VXLAN, DNS, ACL, RADb, Flow spec, RTBH, GitHub, APIs, NFV, Hypervisors, virtual switchingMulti-vendor experience working with the following platforms: Cisco IOS, ASR 1k (IOS-XE), ASR (IOS-XR), Nexus (NX-OS), Aruba wireless and ClearPassExperience working in a service provider, datacenter/hosting environment, or large-scale enterprise networksExperience researching, evaluating, and recommending hardware and/or software solutions supporting large-scale deployments and/or remediations against the LAN/WANExperience working with 3rd party networking vendors, with an understanding of the service/hardware/software portfolios they provideAble to identify areas of process improvement and provide input and solution options to streamline workExcellent writing, documentation, and communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical peersCustomer service-oriented attitudeExperience with network service monitoring systems (Spectrum, SolarWinds, and Cisco DNAC) Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or regional equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Network Engineering; at the manager's discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirementMust have certifications: CCNA and F5 101 Required ExperienceMinimum 5-7 years of recent experience with network design and build-out of LAN/WANs and/or large-scale network retrofits and remediations Preferred SkillsF5 201, F5 301, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP preferred, CCIE (R&S, SP, or DC) highly preferred (or equivalent experience), Python PCEP BenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement Fund About the Client Multi-cloud expert providing tailored application, data, and security solutions.
