Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite in NYCRole Description:Works to build and maintain a variety of software applications, tools, or functions for the business. Compiles business requirements and translates them into technical specifications for development. Documents application functions and updates code repository. Supports QA testing and implement fixes for exceptions.Role Objectives:This individual will be a member of the team working on mission critical projects and provides the technical expertise for development environment, technology architecture and implementation.Software Engineer is responsible for participating in the technical design of all aspects of software solutions for the Capital Market business.This includes both in-house and external applications.This individual will be able to read and understand legacy code in order make safe changes and high value tests.The individual also works together with the business users and analysts to ensure the applications meet users' specification and requirements.The role will interact with the larger development team, share design and solutions, and contribute to the overall objectives of the development team.The individual will become knowledgeable in the Domain space. Deep Knowledge of Financial products is required to solve the problems our users face.Qualifications and Skills:3+ years of practical work experience involving system architecture, software application and message and data transfer and processing.Be well-versed in C, Git, SQL, Windows development, and have an active interest in other computing technology and tools. Familiarity with C#/.net, C++ a plusThis is a hands-on programming position, so we are seeking candidate with solid knowledge in computer science, math, and proficient coding skills.Familiar with the design and implementation of data/message transfer and processing.Have excellent communication skills, good teamwork, and a strong work ethic.Have the maturity to solve problems directly and independently.Undergraduate preparation in Computer Science or similar engineering degree with successful academic achievement or equivalent professional work experience.
