Cleared Java Software Engineer (Level 2-3)
Job PostingTEKsystems is supporting a mission-critical Department of Defense program at Offutt AFB and is seeking Level 2 and Level 3 Cleared Java Developers. This role supports war planning and situational awareness systems used by senior military decision-makers. Candidates should be motivated, professional, and able to thrive in a fast-paced Agile / DevSecOps environment with frequent interaction with government leadership.You will work on web-based, full-stack Java mission systems supporting Intelligence, Global Strike, and Nuclear Planning communities. These systems directly support the nation's nuclear deterrence and strategic defense capabilities.Top Skills (Strongly Required):Java / JEE software development experience with solid understanding of JEE design patterns and best practicesExperience with GWT, Ext JS, JavaScript/JSP, and Struts or SpringExperience with application servers such as Oracle, Tomcat, or WebLogicStrong UI comprehension and experience with rich presentation layersExperience with Eclipse, JUnit, and full-cycle Java application developmentSolid application architecture skills, including: Model-driven development Proper layering and separation of responsibilities Common presentation frameworksDesired / Nice-to-Have Skills:Experience developing and testing full-stack Java web applicationsFamiliarity with modern development tools: Eclipse, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Git JUnit, Selenium Jira JavaScript frameworks (Ext JS, React, Angular, or Vue) HTML / CSS RESTful Web Services JSON / XML CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practicesAdditional Preferred Experience Agile development experience (SCRUM / XP) Test Driven Development (TDD) Tools such as MagicDraw, Crucible, Fisheye, Subversion Experience supporting USSTRATCOM mission planning or strike applications Prior work on Global Strike or Data Services programs Understanding of domain-specific models and algorithms such as: Ballistic missile flight models Earth models Fratricide modeling and algorithms Exposure to Systems Engineering concepts: Requirements definition and decomposition UML, DoDAF views OOA&D Architecture design principles Experience creating software test plans, test descriptions, and reports Ability to support continuous integration and testing efforts in parallel with other tasksClearance Requirements:Top Secret clearance required Candidates may start with an active Secret and upgrade to TS through TEKsystemsSoft Skills & Expectations:Strong communication skills with the ability to brief leadership and government stakeholdersProfessional demeanor; frequent interaction with program management and government customersSelf-starter mindset with the ability to learn quickly in a high-tempo environmentComfort working onsite in a secure environmentWork Environment:Offutt Air Force Base – Building 500 TS/SCI SCIF environment 100% onsite Casual dress Flexible hours Core 40-hour workweek
