Kennywood's rich history spans generations of good times and extends beyond the traditional summer season with popular Halloween and Holiday events.We are currently looking for a:Kennywood - Rides Communication CenterRoles & Responsibilities:The Communications Center operates a complex communication system for Kennywood Park. They are expected to respond to emergency and administrative calls as well as dispatch the appropriate personnel. This position is responsible for directing in-park communication calls, in-park radio traffic, and emergency communication coordination.Roles & Responsibilities:Operates a radio console and paging system; receives and transmits radio messages; broadcasts pertinent information as required.Receives and transmit park transmissions via Two-Way RadiosOperates a telephone console; receives and relays messages; directs requests for assistance.Maintains a complete log of maintenance calls received.Inputs data into multiple database systemsRetrieves online data and paper file information from a variety of sources and relays information to the appropriate destination.Receives and directs messages, inquiries, and information requests from the public to the appropriate source.Performs administrative duties as needed, using a variety of office equipment that includes PC, Windows software, email, faxes, word processing software, copiers, time clocks, paper shredders, and all other software or databases required for reporting or record maintenance.All other duties assigned by leadership.Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftAbility to address multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively and accurately communicate with personnelAbility to operate a variety of electronic equipmentMust possess excellent observation, interviewing, listening, and note-taking skillsMust have the ability to safeguard confidential park informationMust have the ability to always remain alert and vigilantMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and OutlookMust possess effective interpersonal skills needed to tactfully deal with other people and handle tense situations in a calm and professional mannerAbility to read and comprehend fine print on documents and computerized screensAbility to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsMust possess strong attention to detail needed for accurate data entry, report writing, and verbal communicationPhysical Requirements:Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time throughout the entirety of the shiftFrequent sedentary motion, while sitting and utilizing computer, cameras, or communication equipmentAbility to stand or walk long distances throughout the park, when neededAbility to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreWorking Conditions:This role will be predominantly based in an office setting with some exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environmentsFast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and challengesSubject to constant repetitive motionSubject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesTeam member benefits:Working at Kennywood is about making people happy!
