Physician Assistant

Job Description Southlake Orthopaedics is looking for a full time Physician Assistant to join our team.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the surgeon in surgeryPerform patient progress notes, history and physical intake, triage, and consults.Issue and transcribe diagnostic orders and prescriptions.Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans.Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.Evaluate patient status during hospital rounds.Perform independent evaluations in emergency situations.Verify operating room equipment and materials are in a state of readiness.Participate in on-call schedule.Offer counseling and education to patients as needed.Performs clinical duties including, but not limited to, wound care, injections, draw labs, apply and remove dressings/bandages, casting, etc.Performs any additional work-related tasks as needed, including, but not limited to, taking nurse calls, escorting patients from the waiting area, scanning, importing disks, and room prep.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree Physician Assistant from a program accredited by the ARC-PA requiredSuccessful completion of PANCE requiredUnrestricted license (or eligibility to apply for licensure) to practice in the state of Alabama required2 years of Orthopaedic surgery experience preferredAs a member of the Southlake team you can expect:Generous Paid Time Off based on years of serviceHealth & Welfare benefits starting the first of the month following your date of hire: BCBS MedicalDentalVisionCompany paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life, Accident, Cancer, and Critical Illness coverageEmployee Assistance Program401(k) plan after one year of employmentReferral Bonus programMonday - Friday schedule for most rolesPlease note: If you are viewing this position on an external job board (such as Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc.), unless specifically stated in the posting, the provided salary estimates may not be accurate as they are not provided by Southlake Orthopaedics.
