School Behavior Specialist in Maple Grove, MN

Job Description Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A contract opportunity is available for a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) working onsite in Anoka, MN, for the 20252026 school year. This position supports multiple elementary schools within the district, providing expertise in behavior intervention and support to promote student success.Key Responsibilities:Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports for students.Collaborate with teams including another BIS and the Special Education Administrator to develop appropriate programming.Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans.Utilize de-escalation techniques, reinforce positive behaviors, and redirect inappropriate behaviors; may involve use of restrictive procedures.Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.Provide training and behavioral recommendations to school staff.Maintain the safety of students and the school environment.Use data-driven strategies to inform programming decisions.Demonstrate flexible thinking and maintain calm responses during crisis situations.Ensure adherence to school policies and administrative procedures.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.Qualifications:Must hold a BCBA certification or be a licensed Special Education Teacher with Tier 3 or 4 license.Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) are not eligible for this position.Experience working in school settings as a Behavior Specialist preferred.Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with educators and administrators.Proficiency in conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing behavior plans.Schedule and Location:Position runs from January 5, 2026, through June 5, 2026.Approximately 18.75 hours per week, typically from 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, with some variability.Supports four elementary schools in the Anoka area.If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this rewarding Behavior Intervention Specialist role, please submit a PDF of your license and resume for consideration.Compensation for this position ranges from $23.00 to $43.00.
