Volunteer Board Member - Treasurer

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Board Member – Treasurer to join the leadership team at Chester's Corner Rescue Foundation. How You Will Contribute:Responsibilities:Oversee financial policies, reporting, and organizational budget guidance. Ensure accurate tracking of donations, expenditures, and reserves. Collaborate with board members to implement financial controls and organizational policies. Support long-term financial sustainability and planning. Immediate Ownership:Owns high-level oversight of organizational financial management in collaboration with leadership and operational staff. Required Qualifications:Minimum 8 years of experience supporting or leading executive-level leadership in a nonprofit, animal welfare organization, or similar sector. Proven experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or organizational oversight. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Prior board or nonprofit leadership experience in a 501(c)(3) or similar organization a plus. Must reside in California. Must be willing to support long-term growth toward a paid staff structure. Commitment Details:This is a volunteer board position. Expected to participate in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly board meetings initially, transitioning to quarterly meetings as the board and operations stabilize.
