We are seeking a board-certified physician specializing in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology for a locum tenens opportunity near Smyrna, Delaware. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional looking for a temporary role, with a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, available from April 1, 2025, to July 1, 2025. Position Highlights: Schedule: Monday through Friday from April to June. Procedure Days: Monday, Wednesday, and alternating Fridays. Office Days: Tuesday, Thursday, and alternate Fridays. Practice Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient services. Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients per shift. Call Responsibilities: Limited to phone consultations; no admissions required. Core Responsibilities: Perform upper GI endoscopy procedures, including: Biopsies Foreign body removal Fulguration of bleeders Injection of varices Conduct lower GI procedures, including colonoscopy with biopsies and polyp excision. Expertise in ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic). Additional procedures: Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) Liver biopsies Small bowel biopsies Facility Features: Trauma Level III designation. Temporary hospital privileges available. EMR System: Epic. Supported by a skilled team: 4 Medical Assistants 3 PA/NPs 5 Office Staff Qualifications: Board Certification in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology required.
